Don’t Starve

A cute little game, although it freaked me the fuck out when I planted 3 trees, came back 3 days later and chopped one down and one of the other ones grew legs, stood up and proceeded to beat the shit out of me…

I am now very careful around the trees…

I love this game! It didn’t take too long to run out of content, though…

Soniccouture have 40% off EVERYTHING with the code XMAS40. They have an amazing set of vintage synths and strange instruments, including my personal favourite of their’s: The Pan Drums.

Oh and most of their stuff works with the free Kontakt Player. VERY IMPORTANT!

Wavesfactory have…

Thanks so much for keeping us updated, Dr. D!

So my theory professor just said that my work was incredibly tonal and “Mozart-ian”

The ponies discuss matters in a dark corner, no doubt angry at my current totalitarian regime of Ponyville.

I am pretty surprised how fun this is and how great it looks; I usually don’t like mobile games!

Kakariko Village lies in ruins. The residents have built a New Kakariko Village slightly south, but the ruins of the old one remain ripe for the picking. Adventurers have attempted time and again to search for the treasures of the ruins, only to be thwarted, or worse, by the shadow daemons that reside there. When the village was destroyed, a great evil was awoken from the bottom of the well. That evil continues to haunt every step any living creature makes in Kakariko Ruins. Only the mysterious Sheikah know the way to cross the ruins without death. Perhaps Link would do well to gain their trust.

Apocalypse Zelda - Kakariko Ruins

This is my favorite so far! I absolutely love how well the the Kakariko theme fits! Very tense, foggy, and dangerous.

So, if you fancy a break from the drama, consider this question:

Have you ever achieved bliss listening to music?

Listen to this choir piece and the answer will be yes.

USE HEADPHONES!

Knut Nystedt: ‘Immortal Bach’ (1988)

This was really moving. Thanks for sharing, Dr D.

Playing around with some of the themes from my experiment.

Quite a fascinating article on piracy in the music software industry. I was unaware there was a ‘scene’ out there for cracking, I thought some randoms just did it.

Any thoughts?

It’s just really difficult to shell out hundreds of dollars for something you probably won’t get any money out of. I try to buy as much of the software that I use as I can, but I’m just a student - not even a music student right now. I don’t know if composing music is what I want to do as my job or even if I will want to do it at all after a few years. If I saw some promise in the music I wrote and decided I wanted to try and make a living off of it, I would think that I would just buy everything I could and call it an investment. Right now it’s just something I really like to do, and if I wanted something out of my “fun stuff” budget, the fact that I couldn’t pirate it wouldn’t change the fact that I couldn’t afford it, so I still wouldn’t be giving any money to the developers. I don’t think piracy is good, but I don’t see a solution to it.

I’m only interested in the Fr33 Radicals, but 30% off the epic percussion is pretty awesome! Note that the discount is only applied if you add them to your cart. So for example, the Epic Dhol Ensemble is actually $69, not $99!

Maybe this will remove my musical disability at the moment!

Thanks for pointing this out! I might have to grab some epic drums while they’re available.

Remember, you need the FULL version of Kontakt for these!

I have it, so I hope your ears are prepared for crummy “epic” pieces
